In response to the global pandemic and nationwide uprisings, Reunion Chicago, Slo ‘Mo and OTV - Open Television combined energies and resources to present the intergenerational and intersectional virtual Pride festival that the community deserved in June of 2020.
Tapping into the talents of Black LGBTQ+ creatives and artists, this three-day experience created a highly stylized, interactactive variety show that broadcasted to OTV’s streaming platform with programming curated by Slo ‘Mo and hosted by community organizers/artists Jenna Anast & Elijah McKinnon.
The festival featured over 50+ Black LGBTQ+ artists from every corner of Chicago which included performances, DJ sets, a few national cameos from stars on the rise that are a part of the Qultural constellation and much more. The show also included musical performances, short films, comedy skits, movement and drag with OTV produced advertorial messages from community partners and sponsors.
This highly designed and intentionally curated festival was broadcast LIVE each night to over 10,000 unique viewers and generated over $18,000 in mutual aid throughout the month of June in 2020.
Presented in partnership by AIDS Foundation Chicago, Howard Brown Health, Red Bull, Women's Connection and PrEP4Love.
WE'LL SEND YOU A LOVE NOTE WHEN WE GO LIVE #4THEQULTURE!
